The Cooper Life Fund’s first challenge was to organize a fund-raising 5K and 1-Mile race. Both John and Ashley Fontenot believe
in health & fitness and are avid runners and knew right away that dedicating a race to Cooper was on top of the “To-Do” list. In the fall
of 2005, the dream became a reality.
The Super Cooper Heart Run would be the name of this race because of how super little Cooper was during his heartbreaking
first month of life. All proceeds from the Super Cooper Heart Run will be donated to charitable heart
& medical related foundations, such as
Camp Bon Coeur, a summer camp for children with heart defects, and
Terrebonne General Medical Center - NICU to aid the families who have newborns with serious medical conditions.
