Super Cooper 5K & 1-Mile - Houma Race

The Super Cooper 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run in Houma, LA is held every Spring...usually the 4th weekend in March. This event raises money for families whose newborn infants are born with medical conditions and are admitted into Terrebonne General Health System's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (TGHS-NICU).

Through our first 16 races (2007 - 2022) we've raised over $207,500, all of which goes directly to assisting the families of newborns admitted to the NICU.

Cooper Life Fund

Cooper Life Fund is a nonprofit organization named after Cooper Fontenot, the second-born son of John & Ashley Fontenot. Cooper was born with a serious heart defect and underwent several procedures in his first year of life, including open-heart surgery. Cooper has since graduated high school where he was an athlete-student and now attends the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL) where he participates in intramural sports and competes in power lifting. This race is a way for the Fontenot's to offer small miracles to children & their families who experienced the same tough challenges that Cooper and the entire Fontenot family went through.

As always, 100% of proceeds raised from our Houma Super Cooper race help families whose children are born with serious health conditions and are admitted into Terrebonne General's Neonatal Intensive Care unit (NICU). All money raised stays right here in our community helping families from our community.

Cooper Life Fund thanks you for your support and your involvement with the Super Cooper race series!
