Our 16th Annual Super Cooper 5K was absolutely fantastic. We had great weather, a great turnout and great fun.
And we were able to raise $16,000 in proceeds. 100% of the proceeds go directly to the care and well being of newborn babies admitted into the Terrebonne General NICU.

Welcome to our website. Here you will learn more about us, what we do, why we do what we do, and how you can get involved.
Cooper Life Fund is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created with an objective to develop methods of raising money which will aid children and families of children born with heart defects and other serious medical conditions. Learn more by clicking here.
10 years ago, in August of 2005, Cooper Life Fund (CLF) was founded as a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization within the state of Louisiana. CLF was founded and designed to offer hope and support to families whose children are born with serious medical conditions, such as congenital heart defects.
We have had a great ten years of hosting both the Lafayette and the Houma Super Cooper 5K races. To date we’ve organized 9 Super Cooper 5K races in Lafayette. From those 9 races we’ve raised $63,000 which went towards helping children attend Camp Bon Coeur, a summer camp exclusively for kids born with heart defects.
In Houma, we’ve also organized 9 Super Cooper 5K races and 1 Strong Heart Trail Trot off-road 2 mile race. The Houma events have helped us to raise $115,000. The proceeds from the Super Cooper 5K races are ear-marked for the Terrebonne General Medical Center’s (TGMC) Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) where families whose newborns are admitted into the NICU (for any medical reason) are provided benefits from the fund. The Strong Heart Trail Trot held this summer (2015) was the inaugural 2-mile off-road race and all proceeds were donated to a local family whose young child was undergoing heart surgery.
All in all, CLF has raised nearly $180,000 in our first 10 years. 100% of those dollars were used to assist and support family’s right here in south Louisiana. Not one penny from these proceeds left our community. Our mission is to help as much as we can at the local level. Our supporters and contributors will always know that their donations stay right here in their own backyard.
As always, we thank our sponsors, our volunteers and, of course, our racers! Please enjoy some pictures from the past 10 years.
From the very bottom of our hearts, it has been an honor and a privilege to be a part of the community in such a positive way.
